Why do we love to hear some voices and others not – if shared or splayed self-interest do not condition our hearing? Beyond the requirements and vocal gimmicks within each language to be understood or soothe, impress or sound emphatic, is it not the music within the soul of the one who speaks? The music therein need not even sound like instruments or singing, or rather both can, one indirectly by making objects ring or our voices lift originally with melody to reflect the freedom we feel first as a body then air with light playing like a flame from the first of our perception. Some greet the world with music, however modest in inflection, others with deflection (noise?) — the better not to be directly heard — but the former’s clarity ever sounds unique, if it bears the word of life.
