Resignation Is Not Wisdom

Resignation is not wisdom, but to rebel long and true. Quitting greed, ambition, fashion, talent-vanity, romantic overkill — deeper: the reified self as identity, the afterlife, certainty, fate, destiny and a personal God — frees one up for direct experience. But direct experience (no transcendent additives or illusions) lays bare the destruction of all the above with social and personal conformity, and the results: the inhumanity from vast collective grasping. Wisdom might not be surprised by injustice but never resigns without resistance, nor renounces the “foolish” spontaneity of love.
